15 Weeks

Well, we had our 5th sonogram yesterday morning and received a big surprise....the sonographer said, "Well, I definitely don't think it's a boy!" WHAT?!? It really doesn't matter to us either way, because the good news is the baby is healthy and moving around and looks absolutely PERFECT!

We got a video of the baby, but for some reason I can't seem to load it. I will have to get Brice to help, in the mean time here is a good profile shot of Baby Foster!

Sydney

When I started this blog I said that I would probably post way too many pictures of and talk way too much about "the girls" (Sydney and Lana). I just realized that I hardly ever talk about them anymore!

Well, Sydney just had a blogworthy moment. Monday I cleaned out the guest bedroom (which will soon be the nursery) and I put the baby things we've gotten so far in this cute little bassinet that our sweet friends the Stegemollers gave us. Anyway, I was in the living room watching tv and I could Sydney in there whining away. I couldn't figure out what was going on, as I walked around the corner this is what I saw:

I finally coerced her out of the room with a treat and shut the door. Sydney obviously things that any little toys/stuffed animals that make noise are her's....man, she's going to be in for rude awakening! :)

Polka Dots or Farm??

It has been brought to my attention that it has been a while since my last post and that I needed to update my blog. I just don't feel like I have much to blog about. I have been spending most of my summer watching Jarrett (a baby I'm keeping on Tuesdays and Thursdays) or laying out at the pool. I know, I know, such a hard life! :)

The current dilemma in our household is the baby's nursery. We are about 99.9% sure it's a boy (I'll have to post the sonogram picture once Brice gets our scanner hooked back up), but we are waiting to buy anything until our next sonogram on the 5th. In the mean time I have been looking at baby boy bedding, which I would like to point out that the selection is MUCH smaller, or maybe I should say just not as cute as the girl stuff. Anyway, I think we have narrowed it down to either blue and brown polka dots or farm. What do you think??

At first I was pretty set on doing the polka dots, but Brice is REALLY adamant that a child can't learn anything from polka dots and that a farm theme is much more educational!! So, I guess unless I am able to do some really good persuading we will probably go with the farm, but I just wanted to see what every one's opinion out in blogland was first.

Summer Already?

The last couple of weeks have been such a whirlwind. I can't believe one week of summer has already passed! The last week of school was so bitter sweet. I really didn't think I would get too emotional, but as the last day grew nearer I just couldn't imagine having a different class next year. The last day was really hard, there were lots of tears shed that day. But I got showered with some amazing gifts (who knew teachers had it so good!).

The weekend before school got out I went to Abilene for one of my college roommate's, Macy's, bachelorette/lingerie shower. It was really good catching up with some old friends that I haven't seen in such a long time. Macy gets married the end of this month and I can't wait to see her wedding! I'm sure it will be SO cute. Her mom is a florist and she has such cute, trendy ideas.

Last weekend my little sister Maddie graduated from Cooper (those of you who read the paper might have noticed her on the front page of the paper last Sunday!). I really can't believe she is already graduated and ready to head off to college. She will be attending WT in the fall and she can't wait to get out of town.

The past weekend we went to Ruidoso with some of my school friends and their husbands. The girls left early Friday morning and shopped all afternoon and the boys met us up there later that night. We ate at some really good places, went to the horse races and played lots of Skip Bo. It was such a fun weekend!

And finally, while all of these great things have been going on, I am so excited to FINALLY announce our exciting news....WE'RE PREGNANT!!!! We couldn't be more happy. I met with Dr. Atkinson (a fetal monitoring specialist) and he said that everything looks great so I feel like I can finally breath a sigh of relief. I am 11 weeks 4 days, but the baby is already measuring 12 weeks 3 days. And my due date is December 22nd...yay for a Christmas baby!! Friday will be my last appointment with Dr. Phy, which we are so sad about but it's such a blessing at the same time because it means that I have actually made it to the 12 week point. And we scheduled an appointment this morning with Dr. Atkinson for the "Big" ultrasound. As long as the baby is cooperating we should find out the sex on July 5th!
