"It's like waiting for the Prom or something..."

This is what Brice told me a couple of hours before we went to see Superman Returns last night! He was absolutely hilarious about it all. First of all, Superman didn't actually open until today, but Tinseltown, being the nice theater they are, decided to have an early previewing of it at 10:05 last night. Therefore, we have had our tickets for well over a week, and don't worry, we arrived in plenty of time! For those of you who don't know Brice, let me just tell you he is a Superman FANATIC, and has been since he was a little child. His mom said that she used to have to pin his little red cape on everything he wore. I can just picture this little blonde headed boy (yes, Brice had very blonde hair when he was little) running around with a red cape flapping in the wind...so cute! Anyway, after waiting in line for almost an hour we finally made it inside the theater to sit down. Cody and Mike met us up there to join in the fun so that made time go by a little faster for Brice. It was so funny, there was a guy dressed in a full blown Superman costume, with fake muscles and all, and there was also a guy dressed as Lex Luther with a shaved head and everything. As "Superman" was walking down the stairs this little boy's eyes kept getting bigger and bigger as he got closer. I guess the guy realized that the little boy really thought he was Superman so he went over and shook his hand. It was so cute! The little boy just grinned from ear to ear.

Anyway, the movie was GREAT! It had to be great because it didn't end til almost 1 o'clock and I didn't even fall asleep! There was plenty of romance, so all of you ladies out there will enjoy it too. I'm sure that Brice will write a review...so I won't write much, but I highly recommend it!

The Hammocks are Hung

We finally hung the hammocks that we bought in Mexico (thanks to Mike’s negotiating skills!) when were on our cruise back in February, and now our backyard is finally finished! We have really enjoyed our new patio and I think the hammocks are a great addition. I think the girls might like them too!

Having a Mary Heart

We recently started a new women's bible study, and we're reading the book Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World. God calls us to sit at His feet and learn from Him and worship Him, but so many times we fill our lives with so many things that it seems as if we don't have time to just be still and be in the presence of God. Although we have only met once, I am really excited about the study and all the ladies that are involved! I think it is going to be a great time where we can come together as Christian women and sharpen one another with fruitful conversation. My prayer for the study is that we all walk away changed.

Also, I really feel that God is speaking to me about being obedient and reading His word. For the longest time I would pray for a desire to read the Bible, and a desire to pray. When my quiet times were lacking I would just use the excuse that I just had no desire. Recently God has shown me that it's not an issue of desire, it's an issue of obedience.

Romans 12:11 "Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord."

Passat v. Pathfinder

Why is it that once you pay something off you immediately start wanting something new? Brice will die when he sees this post, but I have been thinking a lot about new cars lately. No, I probably won't be getting a new car anytime soon, but it's fun to think about anyway! So here's the question...cute, sporty Volkswagon Passat or practical, roomy, but still cute Nissan Pathfinder? I have driven an SUV for several years so I'm not sure how hard it would be to adjut to a small car, but I just love the new Passats! They get way better gas mileage than SUV's and it would work fine when we have a baby, but once we have more than one (which hopefully won't take too long!) we would probably have to upgrade. And the new Pathfinders are great too, they now come with a third row which would be nice for trips and stuff. I know this isn't deep or profound thinking...just a fun thought for the day, so which one would you choose??

I Did It!!

Wow, I can't believe I have finally succumbed to pressure. After months and months of browsing around other people's blogs I finally decided to create my own. I can't promise that it will be funny, inspiring or entertaining...because to be honest my life is kind of boring right now! But I will let you in on the daily happenings in our so called lives and I'm sure I will post way to many pictures of our two children, our dogs, Sydney and Lana.

Sunday afternoons are the greatest! We ate at Moe's for lunch with several people from class after church. I just love spending time with all of our friends from church...and of course I'm pretty fond of the babies as well! (Thanks Amy and Ashley for always being so generous with Carley and Charlie!) And then when we got home Brice and I decided to give Sydney and Lana a bath. They are absolutely hilarious when it comes to bath time. Neither one of them like them all that much, but I guess since it was 100 degrees outside the cool water felt good because they did great today. Then we all took naps while watching Nascar. What a great day!

Here are some pictures of the girls; Lana's first bath is my all time favorite, isn't she the cutest?! The other one of Lana is her signature move after baths, and then there is Sydney with her "cigar" a.k.a. raw hide stick.
