Pottery Daze and 100's Day!

Before Christmas I went to Pottery Daze with a couple of friends and had the best time! I was so nervous when I got there because it was just a little overwhelming, and I'm really not the most creative person in the world. Plus, I'm such a perfectionist that I almost didn't even want to attempt anything because I was worried it wouldn't turn out cute. But, I finally settled on making a dog bowl for Sydney and Lana. Anyway, I just went to pick it up yesterday and I have to admit I was pretty impressed with myself!! I am so pleased with the way it turned out. Here are a few pictures:

And then onto 100's Day...last Tuesday we celebrated the 100th day of school!! I don't remember this being a big celebration when I was in school, but let me tell it's BIG to kids today (or at our school anyway). All of my kids made 100's Day projects where they made collections of 100 things. I wish I had taken pictures of their projects because they were all so good!! We had a collection of 100 lizards, 100 Disney stickers, 100 green pom poms in the shape of a frog, 100 pecans with actual bark made into a pecan tree and so many more that I can't think of right now! Here is a fun picture of all of my kids with their 100's Day hats and necklaces.

By the way, can you believe it's already February?! Happy Friday!

Your class is so precious! What a priceless picture! We don't have a 100th day party. That is a cute idea!

You are so talented. I bet your girls love their new bowl. I would be mortified there because I am SO not talented. Cute, cute

Wow! That bowl IS cute! It looks a ton better than the ornament I made at Clay Cafe and its just a tiny little thing.

I think that you did a great job on your dog bowl. Jennifer and I went to Clay Cafe this last summer. We had so much fun. I think we worked on ours for 2 hours!!!

Not creative?! I beg to differ. That bowl is SO cute! Mom use to do 100's day in Slaton with her 1st graders. Looks like fun!!

I LOVE the dog bowl. I really want to go paint some pottery sometime. Did you do the lettering yourself? It's so cute! We always had 100th Day when I was in school and it was a bog party. I remember that I glued 100 valentines hearts onto a posterboard one time.
